Our customer service team have spoken to many customers about sending a Get well soon gift hamper. We have a lot of gift ideas and it will depend on the following factors when deciding what to send. The traditional fresh fruit gift basket is a lovely idea, especially for someone that has had surgery or is still in hospital recuperating. We have only seasonal fruit available so the fruit gifts will always be fresh, we choose practical fruit so if the patient is in hospital they won’t need a kitchen or prep area to eat the fruit, we also add lemons and limes that are delicious in hot water to help with digestion or if they have the flu or a cold. These gifts do have restricted delivery areas as we need to ensure a speedy delivery due to the perishable nature of the gift.
If you are looking to send a gift to someone that lives in an area we are not able to send fruit to, I suggest you look at the items in our “Get well Soon Gift Hamper” collection, these are lovely gifts that have practical items in them to soothe the soul. Delicious teas, Chai spice powder, delicious biscuits to go with tea or coffee and we have an arrange of puzzle books and playing cards to keep them busy. If you cannot find anything in the Get well soon collection, make sure you check out the “Create Your Own” menu, it will have all the items we sell and more for you to add to your gift.
If your recipient is in hospital for a while (over a week or more) it is fine to send the gift there, but if they are in for a short stay, make sure you send the gift to their home address if they are outside of the Melbourne area, this way we can ensure your gift will be delivered without any issues, hospitals have strict policies on deliveries to wards (some couriers are not able to go through the ward due to COVID etc) so they deliver to the loading dock or reception and the gift can be delayed by the hospital staff. We recommend you find out from the patients family the ward and bed number so the hospital can deliver smoothly.
